Wanjiru Gichigi is the founder of Siri Tamu Shamba, a sanctuary where healing, creativity, and community come together. Her life's work is rooted in a belief that reconnecting with ourselves, each other, and the natural world creates space for transformation.

With a Master's degree in Dance Anthropology, Wanjiru has spent decades exploring movement as a language of culture, identity, and healing. Through her studies, she came to see the body as a living archive—a vessel that carries memory, tradition, and the stories of those who came before us.
Lineage, Journey & Study
Her journey has taken her across continents. She travelled to Senegal to deepen her understanding of African dance traditions and later studied with Sadhguru in India, where she immersed herself in yoga, meditation, and inner wellbeing. She has also lived and worked in Germany, experiences that broadened her understanding of culture while strengthening her desire to return home.

Returning to Kenya was an intentional choice—a return to the land, to community, and to embodied ways of knowing. From that vision, Siri Tamu Shamba was born: a place where people can pause, reflect, create, and reconnect with their essential selves.
